Are you ready for your next challenge? A not-for-profit educational organization is looking for a Web Developer Manager who apart from having the required expertise and technical skills also has the behavioral qualities needed to support a variety of stakeholders in the education sector.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knows how to prioritize new developments based on rationale, need and target audience
  • Manages the digital learning product development process, managing the deliverables of external developers, reviewers, editors and internal staff as appropriate
  • Establishes tools and processes to track the development of all digital learning products to ensure early warning of delays and communicate risks to the delivery team
  • Oversees the work of the Online Professional Development team, the Marketing team and the Development team ensuring effective use of staffing and resources and meeting their overall goals
  • Acts as the main point of contact for external stakeholders liaising with internal and external stakeholders to allocate budget and resources. Plans timelines, monitors development and ensures final products are delivered on time, within budget and respect high quality standards
  • Contributes to the development of effective marketing initiatives to promote digital learning products
  • Manages the development pipeline budget and monitors planned value for product development
  • Liaises with PD Global Heads and other internal stakeholders to determine new PD developments for the year
  • Liaises with other PS managers, marketing and communications departments and contributes to design and review marketing materials for digital learning products
  • Stays aware of developments in education, digital learning technology, product development and project/product management to inform Digital Learning product development and planning and to identify opportunities and potential risks
  • Assists in the development of the strategic product development plan with timing on development and global marketing strategies (in collaboration with marketing) to ensure products developed meet the need of the stakeholders
  • Ensures alignment between the organization’s strategic goals and objectives with those of digital learning products
  • Participates in organization-wide initiatives that have an impact on the development of Digital Learning products

Job Requirements:

  • a first degree or equivalent and around 5-6 years’ relevant work experience in a related field
  • demonstrated professional experience in an educational environment
  • evidence of a successful track record as a manager, making efficient use of staff and financial resources
  • demonstrated experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds and tight deadlines, as well as a qualification in project management
  • demonstrated experience in managing a budget
  • a high degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • experience and interest in digital learning
  • good understanding of current developments in digital learning environments such as Moodle, etc
  • excellent communication, team-building skills and consultative skills
  • excellent and demonstrated command of the English language. Fluent in writing or speaking a second language (preferably Spanish or French)

The following points are a plus:

  • an understanding of teacher needs in an international context
  • experience in managing remote teams
  • an understanding of the relevance of social media and mobile technologies for online learning
  • experience and awareness of designing products for an international and multi-cultural audience
