Our client, one of the pioneering names in motor oil technology is searching for an innovative and investigative Manufacturing Analyst to join their talented team in Dordrecht.


The successful candidate will be responsible for an effective and reliable inventory valuation, as well as product and plant costing control within the finance team and ensures compliance with US GAAP and local statutory reporting requirements for the entities in the EMEA region. This position reports to the Financial Controller and is based in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.



Main Responsibilities

  • Cost (product) control, analysis and reporting, including cost price adjustments;
  • Inventory valuation control, analysis and reporting, including SMOG, Obsolete and LCM provision calculations;
  • Plant and Warehouse cost control, analysis and reporting;
  • GR/IR (clearing) control, related to materials, custom duties, inbound and outbound freight;
  • Interaction with various departments in Operations (like Product Scheduling, Purchasing, Manufacturing) and Finance
  • Providing monthly/quarterly specifications/reconciliations and documentation of financial data related to inventory and costing (i.e. SMOG, Obsolete, LCM, GR/IR);
  • Providing internal and external audit required documentation during the year;
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP / Local GAAP / SOX requirements;
  • Continuous improvement of the processes in inventory valuation, and product and plant costing control


Other Activities

  • During the month continuous checking of correctness on cost prices, PO and GR/IR transactions;
  • Liaise with operating departments to take corrective actions;
  • Approve materials in the SAP Workflow;
  • Follow up on requests for cost price changes;
  • Review and analyze accrual positions for custom duties, inbound and outbound freight;
  • Before month-end review and analyze final cost prices;
  • Before month- and quarter-end review and analyze data for SMOG and Obsolete provisions and GR/IR open items and liaise with operating departments;
  • At month- and quarter-end, following a closing schedule, provide final calculations for the SMOG, Obsolete and LCM provisions;
  • After month-end provide various reporting to Operations and Finance, i.e. cost center reporting of Plant and Warehouses, Over- and under-absorption of the Plant, Actual vs Budget analysis;
  • Accountable for the reconciliation of the inventory and GR/IR related balance sheet accounts;
  • Ad hoc analysis


Requirements

In order to be successful in this role you will need to have or be:

  • Native or near-native level of Dutch (spoken and written) along with Business level English is a MUST.
  • Education at minimum MBO level or HBO
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP (and BW reporting tool)
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Professional level of knowledge of modern accounting practices
  • Experience with Internal Controls (SOX and audits)
  • Good understanding of the use and application of other IT software (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with cultural diversity and a multinational environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
