Our client is an international and growing organization located in Amsterdam.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Demand and Supply Specialist.

You will be responsible for balancing demand and supply to optimize product availability at the right inventory levels. The planning manager effectively liaises between sales, marketplace operations and global supply. Driving the sales and operation planning cycle is a key part of the role. The demand and supply planning specialist provides the right insight and planning scenarios to senior management, with a good eye for the commercial side of the business.

Responsibilities of the planning specialist include:

  • Drive and facilitate the marketplace Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Prepare and maintain the supply and inventory plan
  • Perform advanced analytics on demand and inventory; feed the business planning process
  • Suggest and execute improvements in the planning process

Key KPI’s for this role are the inventory performance ‘availability of inventory’, ‘inventory turns’ and ‘obsolescence’. The geographies to be supported include Europe and Asia (mainly China).

Your tasks:

  • Drive and facilitate the market place S&OP process
    • Collaborate with sales on getting the best possible demand forecast
    • Drive cross-functional alignment on the sales and operations plan
    • Facilitate and enhance the S&OP process across all functions
    • Provide management reporting and insight
  • Prepare and maintain the supply and inventory plan
    • Aggregate and validate the demand plan
    • Develop the supply plan and scenarios
    • Monitor product availability and manage exceptions
    • Collaborate with global procurement on the effective execution of the supply plan and exceptions
    • Maintain the set-up and master data for the planning systems (Demantra / Oracle ASCP)
  • Perform advanced analytics on demand and inventory; feed the business planning process
    • Prepare and maintain the periodic S&OP dashboards
    • Perform deep dive analytics on inventory performance
    • Support the business planning process with insights on commercial performance
  • Suggest and execute improvements in the performance and planning process
    • Continuously enhance the demand and supply planning processes and planning parameters
    • Maintain the set-up and master data for the planning systems (Demantra / Oracle ASCP)
    • No direct reports

What are we looking for?

  • 5- 7 Years plus hands-on experience in demand and supply planning (FMCG – Electronics)
  • Experience with (advanced)planning systems
  • Excellent data and analytics skills. Understanding of demand forecasting algorithms.
  • (Senior)management communication in English
  • Eye for detail: Consistent and effective handling of detailed information
  • Problem analysis: Identify issues, recognize important and relevant information. Being able to connect the dots and identify root causes. Reviews problems by asking directed questions and using various relevant information sources. Distinguishes facts from opinions and assumptions.
  • Customer Orientation: The ability and willingness to find out what the customer wants and needs and to act accordingly, taking the organization’s costs and benefits into account. The Logistics manager is aware of the consumers, interests and needs and anticipates them.
  • Presenting: The ability to present ideas and plans clearly, using available resources; able to tell a complicated story in clear words.
  • Controlling Progress: The ability to control the progress of employees’ processes, tasks, or activities and of one’s own work and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (other languages)
