Our client is a Hague-based NGO with the purpose of improving conditions for pregnant women worldwide, enhancing reproductive health, and the newborn's wellbeing. The Learning & Development Specialist will further refine and implement the organization's monitoring, evaluation and learning system. The Learning & Development Specialist will use appropriate tools to collect and analyze a variety of data for drawing learnings/synergies across the organization's strategic priorities and programs as well as donor reporting, and adaptive management.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and contribute to processes for identifying and incorporating learning into the program’s strategic design;
Help identify, analyze, and synthesize lessons learned from program implementation and facilitate the incorporation of those lessons into the activity development cycle;
Organize regular collaborations, learning and adaptation meetings internally;
Implement appropriate mechanisms for monitoring, evaluating and tracking of the organization's strategy, program activities, and results;
Manage a data collection platform, ensuring timely data entry and cleaning;
Implement activity-level monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring quality and consistency across the organization's projects;
Train staff, where required, on key concepts, tools, and processes
Undertake, if necessary, periodic visits to project locations to collect data and/or oversee data collection efforts;
Build excellent relationship with our program, technical and finance colleagues;
Work across teams and undertake such other duties appropriate to the grade and character of the work, as may be reasonably be expected
Requirements:
Graduate degree in evaluation or a related field
Excellent understanding of the Theory of Change (ToC) approach, results frameworks, monitoring evaluation and learning plan development and other key approaches/methodologies
Three to five years’ experience of working in a similar role in international development sector.
Excellent quantitative and qualitative research, analysis and evaluation skills.
Computer literacy and competency in use of Microsoft Office software.
Proficiency in common statistical software, including Stata, SPSS, etc.
Experience with electronic data capture and analysis platforms.
Highly developed conceptual, analytical and innovative problem-solving ability.
Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor tasks.
Ability to independently and proactively work as a team member with minimum day-to-day oversight.
Experience with adult learning contexts and approaches
Strong experience working remotely
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, preferably you speak French or Spanish
Working and delivering calmly under pressure meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management, organizational skills and ability to prioritize a wide variety of work
Proactive, “can do” attitude with good initiative in responding to varied tasks
