Illness - contract with temp clause
We will inform the UWV who are responsible for administering temporary sickness. As a temp worker you will not be paid for the first two days of sickness. You will however receive a supplement amounting to 0.71% of your regular salary, called waiting days “wachtdagen”, each week to cover this.
From the third day onwards you will receive sick pay (up to 91%) calculated by UWV. 70% is paid by the UWV and the other 21% by Adams’. This is based on your average salary over the previous 13 weeks and the payments normally constitute 70% of your gross salary. If you have worked for less than 13 weeks your payment will automatically be less.
Please note: The UWV pays sickness benefits monthly and it can be a few weeks before you receive your first payment. If you are sick for a more than three days, the UWV or the Arbodienst may visit you at home to check on your condition. You are expected to stay at home whilst you are on sick leave.
You are legally obliged to register yourself better with the UWV before 9 a.m. on the day you return to work. The telephone number is: 036 750 6566 (24 hour answering service). It is a tape in Dutch and it asks for your BSN number, your name, date of birth, the name of the agency you work for, your first sick day and the day you returned to work. If you are struggling, ask a colleague to help you. We also expect you to let us know when you are better.
